Since 1995, the National Sunday School Office has awarded the Billie
Davis Award for Excellence in Christian Education to Sunday School
teachers who faithfully contribute to a high standard of discipleship as
they teach God’s Word to God’s people in Sunday School.
The Billie Davis Award of Excellence in Christian Education was named
after and first presented to Dr. Billie Davis, author and Christian
educator, who has given many years of her life to uplifting the teaching
ministry in the church. A plaque with the honorees’ names is displayed
at the Assemblies of God headquarters in Springfield, Missouri.
Each person received congratulatory letters from the general
superintendent and other leaders. Their churches received complimentary
curriculum from Radiant Life. Please help us to honor hundreds of
teachers for their ministry and dedication.

Every year we honor one person as the National Teacher of the Year.
The national award winner is not only invited to Springfield, MO to be
honored by the National Office, but also receives an annual grand prize.
Past winners have even been sent on a cruise! The teacher’s church is
also blessed with $1,000 in resources from Gospel Publishing House! We
believe that teaching is one of the greatest ministries a person can
offer to his or her church and this one small way that we would like to
say thank you.
