Write your teacher a thank-you card
  • Each person in the class write a separate card
  • The class as a whole sign a card

Sign a book for your teacher
  • Send an inspirational book around and let each class member sign a page of their choosing
  • Leave space at the end for the teacher’s spouse or close friend to summarize

Write an article about your teacher
  • Publish the article to your church’s Sunday School web site
  • Ask your pastor to read the article aloud on Sunday morning
  • Present your Sunday School teachers with flowers in a special service dedicated to them

Have a banquet, pizza party, or potluck in their honor
  • Give them the “seat(s) of honor”
  • Present them with an award or certificate (See certificate options above)

Have a “family” dinner
  • Each family in the church sponsor one Sunday School teacher
  • Make dinner, dessert
  • Have a special time of prayer and thanksgiving

Implement a Teacher Appreciation Ceremony into your church service once a year.
  • Download this ceremony (Word document) or dream up your own
  • Let children and youth help prepare for the ceremony and serve in various ways
  • Use the ceremony as a recruiting tool to draw more teachers out of the congregation
