Lakeview Lifegroups

God is into relationships! He wants to have one with each of us and He wants us to enjoy them with others. We recognize that it can be easy for someone to attend Lakeview and feel “lost in the crowd.” That’s why we offer hundreds of Lifegroups so you can find a place of connection. Most Lifegroups are offered on a semester by semester basis (fall, spring, summer), coinciding with the ebb and flow schedule of many families who have children in school or college. Some meet in homes, others on the church campus, and still others in places like bagel shops and businesses. Topics include family, marriage, Bible study, hobbies, interests, fun and fellowship, sports, entertainment…and much more!

We also recognize that everyone is on a journey of spiritual growth. Some are ready to dig deep into the Bible while others are trying to decide if they want to accept Jesus. Our Lifegroups are strategically organized to meet you wherever you are on your spiritual journey. To help make this easier, we have divided our Lifegroups into 3 primary categories: Life Interests, Life Services, and Life Studies.

Following are the detailed descriptions of these categories.

Life Interests

What do you love to do? What do you have a passion for? Can you spend hours delving into the Scriptures? Have you and your spouse been happily married for years and you’ve really figured out what it takes to be happy? Have you raised exceptional kids? Do you know how to manage your budget well? Do you enjoy gourmet cooking or perhaps a game of hoops? Think about your life passion—that hobby or interestyou love topursue in your spare time, the skill you have mastered, and the life goal you want to reach. Most likely those very things are your strengths—the things God has placed in your life through which you canlead and serve others.

The fact is that we are all interested in something. Some are trying to work on their marriage while others are taking a stab at a new hobby. Some love to read a book and process it with friends while another may knit a shawl for a missionary. Whatever your interest is, the key is to do it with others who share that interest. We have found that common interests are a great way to win your family and friends to Jesus and live the abundant life Jesus spoke of.

Life Interests groups are based on common interests. In fact, these groups are led by people just like you. Along with Life Service groups, Life Interests groups are the place for people to be empowered for ministry through strong, healthy relationships.

Let’s face it: healthy, warm, long-term relationships make life work well. Being part of a network of good friends provides us with strength, confidence, and joy. Nothing else short of faith in Jesus gives us such incredible, life-altering blessings as being deeply and positively connected with other people.

LifeGroups at Lakeview Church have helped hundreds of people find that strength, confidence, and joy. Over the years, we have heard countless stories about how joining a lifegroup changed lives. Marriages have been rescued. Children have been saved. Businesses have prospered. Year after year, people who connect through lifegroups experience incredible growth.

We pray you find a lifegroup to jump into this semester and begin living life connected to others.

Life Services

Serving others is not an optional part of being a Christian. Everyone can do something to serve others. The Bible clearly gives us instruction to take what the Lord has given to us and to serve others. “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10).

Life Service groups come in various forms with all sorts of ways to serve other people. Just like giving a great Christmas present, what ends up happening is that you are internally and eternally changed. What Jesus said is of course true; “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

The entire reason we want to serve is to become more like Christ. In the end, we will resemble Christ when we give our TIME, TALENT, and our TREASURE. So, jump in and begin serving those around you and see how the Lord will begin to heal you.

Life Studies

We are all students in life, and the way we live our lives now is based on what we have learned from our past. Our current lifestyles, relationships, habits, and attitudes were all formed from this “Learning Laboratory” called life. For some, this may have been a great learning environment; for others, maybe not so great. Either way we are products of that environment.

Life Study groups are taught by seasoned teachers and pastors with great topics that relate to the issues of today. These groups typically meet in a classroom setting at the church.

As you can see, Lakeview Lifegroups are the primary arm of discipleship. No matter where you are on your journey, you can find a group that will help you with life. This is exactly why they are called Lifegroups.

We encourage you to grow with us as we become more like Christ… together.
